dont accept the unacceptable
Do you ever accept the unacceptable? If we were truthful with ourselves, I’m sure we would all have to admit that we do, and more often than we like. So many times we feel it is the only alternative we have because we allow circumstances and others to dictate the way we attempt to accomplish things. We have procrastinated or failed to properly prepare or are pressured to do it before we feel comfortable we can achieve it. These can all be factors we must deal with but the primary problem is our own mindset and determination. We allow other influences to control our actions and reactions, which in turn dominates and drives us in directions contrary to our desire. Even if these aren’t the actual reasons they can be ways we excuse and justify our own slackness. We blame our “surroundings and others” so we don’t have to admit, even to ourselves, our weaknesses. Many times we take the opinion that it will be good enough and as long as the task is finished it will be OK. Normally that is when we aren’t really satisfied with the results. We regret the outcome and hope no one knows we did it. If we would change our mindset and determination to be aligned with our objectives focusing on accomplishing them, the results would startling. Correcting our thinking and attitude toward required tasks can make amazing differences. Not only will the quality be better, but also the quantity as well as our feeling of accomplishment. We always want to please others with a job well done but most importantly we must be satisfied ourselves. The pride of doing our best is an emotion that can’t be taken away no matter what other opinions are voiced.
